Thank You Shipbuild.
No, I don't keep track of the amount of time spent on the work.
However, this one began in Jan 2016. So it has been going for a while.

31 – Auxiliary Boats

Hello Friends: Here are new images to show the work with the midship cradles and boats.

Note in image 280: In the middle foreground are the 1/32” plywood frames/thwarts I referred to previously. I had attempted to make them out of card, but they were easily damaged during assembly.
As seen in image 281, the results were good.

Once again, I used plastic rods as guides to align the cradles.
Image 283 shows the midship boats installed. They are not glued into position yet. They need to be removed to allow easy installation of the remaining cradles.

Renaud sent me another excellent image of more auxiliary boats:
“Compagnies de Débarquement”. It is an excellent photo. I hope you enjoy it!

Regards,
Mike

Your pictures not only show your excellent boats and cradles, they also showcase the wonderful detail work you've done topside. This thread continues to be a great read and a solid primer on card modeling. Continuing to follow with much interest.

Hi Mike,
excellent boats.
I wonder how much of them would be able to swim after a fight with the artillery?

Regards
Dieter
