Gneisenau...1/400

The German battlecruiser, Gneisenau (1938-1942), sister ship of the Scharnhorst. Together, they raided British shipping and participated in the German invasion of Norway. British bombing raids caused significant damage and eventually she was sunk as a blockship in the port of Gotenhafen.

The plans were made by Zio Prudezio and is modeled in 1/400 scale. While the instructions appear minimal, I'd say 95% of the necessary information is available if one follows the construction diagrams. Jim's (Papermodeler) recent build of the Bismarck by the same designer was of valuable assistance in the project.

Good job on a Zio ship! I have heard his instructions are minimal at best. It's encouraging to see that you were able to build the ship using Zio's instructions. You did well.

Elliot- Thanks. I think of Zio in artist's terms as a "minimalist"...you really have to think about what he wants you to do. I had to do a lot of thinking!!

Don and Dieter--I appreciate your support.

Very nice build. A lot of detail packed in that tight little space.

Nice work with your Gneisenau Mike.
What part of western Pennsylvania are you from?
(my father was from Dilltown, not far from Johnstown)
