HMS Walney
Hi
A model of Royal Navy Sandown class mine hunter. The model here represents HMS Walney. I built this model in card some years ago so have no photos of the building process. Decided to build it as at the time she was a very modern warship with modest dimensions. So with a scale of 1/96 it would have made a model not too large and all the fittings would have been easily made. No radomes on deck or extra machine guns on port and starboard because I made the model "As built". The card underneath my model are the material I use to build my models. I put the card under the ship because I fresh painted the waterline and it took a long time to dry. I have a large amount of enamel paint thins, but when they finish will replace them with acrylics. Sadly HMS Walney is no longer with the RN. She now forms part of the Royal Saudi Navy with the name of "Admiral Cowan". |
