H Jan!

Thanks for the pics! Really beautiful and clean work! I for myself struggle with shaping sails a bit...Still need to work on my method with varnish and sand...Will try another varnish for my last sail.

Superb display of your skills, Jan! Bravo!

Thank you friends for your replies

Rdk: I know your method But, why not to try thinned glue for the paper ( IŽm sure you know Herkules ) instead of varnish ? I think youllŽbe satisfied.

Michael Mash, frigate 264: yes, sails are always magic and changes ship a lot.

All sails are on the ship. Now I can start with the second part of running rigging. I also started to produce some necessary elements

Stunning. I just have to sit back and admire your work. I doubt I will ever get to this level

Beautiful sails, and you do a great job turning paper into wood.
Most viewers would assume they are looking at a wood model.

Hi Jan,

Yes, I know Herkules, but have never tried thinned glue on fabric. Have to make some tests first. Here in Finland there is of course not Herkules, but similar glues. The problem I had now with the varnish is that it hardened quite with the sails bent too much and the whole yard was a bit bent, or like they say here "vinksin vonksin"... Was quite a job to somehow straighten it with the running rigging...I'll post some pictures soon in my own thread.

Really great work on the sails, I admire the clean look of your model and the sails! My ones look in comparison as found on the street after a half-rainy, half-snowy day, driven over by cars and trucks... I somehow wanted them to look dirty, but I also learn from masters like you!

Great job on the anchos, too! Looking forward to seeing the running rigging running between the masts and yards!

What else can be added in the comments to such a beautiful model? Extremely successful?
