EZ-Bild Venetian Gondola

I know it hardly compares to Silveroxide's gondolas ( Venetian Gondola ), but these are for a different purpose.

Some time ago, the skirmish game Carnevale came out, carnevaleapp

A friend from Germany and I were working on papermodels for the gamers who don't want to spend all that time gaming. Only Walter passed away last summer suddenly. Some other gamers followed his links to find some of Walter's and my models, and I developed a few new friends, so even though I still find it nearly impossible to go back to models I was doing at Walter's encouragement, I am back to doing some Venice models for the game.

Walter came up with a gondola for the game using parts glued to chipboard. I think I am the only one to build it.

EDIT -- I forgot to mention that this one can be built in two hours

Using grendelsmother64's boat style, I converted it and gave it a repaint

That was my test build. Here's how it came out

And a group shot, showing the evolution

Granted, many gamers will look down on paper models, but I think most of that is from not seeing paper models done at an appropriate standard

That's a very elegant looking gondola. Beautiful job!

Thank you, sir. I really had a hard time keeping it as a gaming proxy. I really want to design one with the elevated bow and stern. But the goal was to help out the gamers, so I needed to have room for figures, have it solid and easy to build

You should be very proud of that. It's gorgeous.

Thank you, sir. In my mind's eye, I think 'really good for a gaming piece' or 'even better than I expected.' It was hard to not do a Model of a gondola, as opposed to a gaming piece. For what should be good for those gamers who play Venice scenarios, it should hit it pretty well on the head.
