The sun deck is almost finished. Just some cowls are missing. The pics show the aft docking bridge with the navigational instruments, the second class sun deck and the space between the second and first class structure. Mind that the masts and cranes are also still missing.

The next pic shows the skylight of the second class music room and two vents. The thermotanks are my own construction. I took plans by the Shipbuilder as a reference. The verandah café is my indisputable pride - a lovely place to enjoy the brisk ocean breeze. The roof of the verandah cafe is part of a working area with all kinds of elements: openings for of the engine hatches, and the skylight for the first class smoking room. The bases of the funnels were somewhat refined by me to match the original. It was hard to guess the original color of the base thermotanks. In later pics they were painted white, but earlier probably gray. The middle structure is the Marconi shack with the adjacent skylight of the grand entrance and library and writing room.

The last row of pics of this series show the sun deck area between the first and second funnel. The missing cowls will be added next week. The winches gave me some hard time. Again the Shipbuilder helped me to contruct them. I chose new cardboard to let the funnels appear in a brighter red than my printer reproduces Sharuna´s original. The elements surrounding the whistle look magnificent, don´t you think? The bridge is always a decisive structure - the face of the ship, one may say. I put some effort into the details. As reference Layton´s Mauuretania book provided some fine detailed pictures. But now we have to sneak off the ship as not to disturb the dilligent workmen of Swan Hunter.....
