RMS Mauretania 1:250

After having finished the gigantic QM2 I have been working on the Mauretania for two months. As a basis I took Sharunas´kit, enlarged the plans by Engineering and Shipbuilder and tried to be as exact as possible. The level of QM2 is impossible as the current ship does not provide enough detailed picture material. In some cases I have to improvise.

What a nice surprise!
I see you've already put a lot of work in improving model by adding many small details. Impressive!

I shall follow this thread with great interest

Some impressions of the current build. I´m at Boat Deck level, reconfigurated the skylights a bit according to the Engineerung plan. The windscoops are more attractive than the cardboard ones but also expensive. As you can see I am working myself from the second class boat deck area slowly forward. The davids, cranes and masts will come only later. The original parts by Sharunas fit perfectly. I just altered the middle part of the boat deck as this was a bit raised. As a reference I use the Tyne and Wear model as presented by Photobucket on the net.

Wow! I built Sharunas Mauretania as designed, it came out pretty good. He's a very good, precise designer. But the details you put in your ships is leagues ahead of what a paper shredder like me can accomplish. Can't wait to see the finished ship.

Wow, very impressive. The model by itself is fantastic, but with all the extra details it's incredible. Keep adding more photos, thanks for sharing.
