The frame and deck look good.
This one has a lot of beam.

It looks good.
I made the hull twice, so have got some useful suggestions (maybe:-)).
1. Cut with a sharp knife every plank exactly on the line. First use little force only to "trace" the cutting line. Then repeat cutting 2 or 3 times (I never cut planks using strength, but gently 2-4 times without any haste.
2. Paint edges
3. The key is shaping planks before sticking. They really should fit without any glue.
4. Don't use water-based glue or CA. Water based glues have tendency to "reduce the size" and when they dry, they "pull" planks towards the hull and finally "skinny cow's ribs" are visible. I use "polymer" glue, which "keeps the size" and gives 45-90 seconds for corrections.
5. The less glue the better.
6. To cut, paint, shape and glue take me about 30 -45 min per plank. (6-7 planks for 4 hours)

I hope it will help somehow or other.

Many thanks for the tips!! Will definitely be helpful. Any and all tips are welcome.. no such thing as too many tips as far as I'm concerned...

Question?? What are/purpose of the "spikes" on the front of the stem for?

sheeting..

Well I started on sheeting the hull.. Starting with #23 which shows the interior of the hold. Must be doing something right, as everything lined up and flushes up evenly to the deck on both sides.

Sheeting diagram..

Parts..

Lining up #23 and tacking it down, centering it...

Slowly following it around, going back and forth a little on both sides. As I think getting this first piece accurately lined up is critical.

Completed.. Needs to be painted to match the following sheets..

Your welcome. My pleasure.

"Spikes" are a problem. Some time ago it was thought that this is Roman influence. But "muleta" is not so old and nothing confirms such idea. Really cannot help as I don't know Portuguese and this ship is specific only for the region of Seixal and Barreiro south of Lisbon. So probably she is not carefuly explored exept of a few fanatics.
If you don't get to there (Portuguese:-((()

Maybe the spikes were used as a way come aboard out of the water.

I am portuguese and also cant find any source talking about the spikes, but if you read the model instructions, it says that it was problably a way to protect the ship from collisions.

O mar das garrafas: A Muleta do Seixal

The history text in the instructions of the model seems to be a translation of this text but in the original there is no mention of the spikes!!

@Tinto
You are right, spikes are a puzzle;-)) Maybe the oldest man in Seixal remebers his/her grandfather and knows the story of spikes. Maybe some modellers from Seixal.
