Yeah, the rigging is absolutely frantic. The hull reminds a canoe. That is why I decided to make it.

the thing is, they used this rig for 500 years, right up to the 20th century. I wonder why.

I know I saw an image (I wish I saved it) where they used the fore and aft spirits as anchor points for a fishing net.

Just planking away!!

Here's where I'm at.. Learning a lot with this phase, and hopefully I'll get a cleaner look as I work my way up the hull. Should have sanded the high points better on the hull, but I was worried about erasing the lines. Once the first plank was laid, you really don't need the lines.

Yes, its true. Unfortunately there any left.

Like I said before. The rig was used for so many time and if didint change it, it was because it suited well their needs, and its true that this strange and complicated rig and was used to navigate sideways.
