And here is the hull with the first layer of varnish and paint.

And a comparation against the HMS Hood and the HMS Onslow, with the USS Enterprise like a bonus. All at 1/700 scale.

After I took this pictures, I covered the furrow in the starboard side, and applied a second layer of varnish where necessary.

This new metod gives me a smoother surface. In fact, parts of the ship look like a complete plastic piece.

Tuesday I'll sand the new layer of varnish and I'll apply the last layer of paint, including the black stripe that has been left unpainted.

The hull is finished, here with the rudder and keels before painting, and after paint.

I was thinking about painting the decks, but I got sidestepped with the Supermarine Walrus. As you can see, it's almost finished.

Assembling the upper decks, and painting them.

My wood paint is dry, I'll have to make more. The aircraft is finished.

This weekend I'll work on my CV-6 Enterprise, hope I'll finish it.

After a brief recess to finish my CV-6 Enterprise, it's time to continue the Hms Belfast

As you can see, the deck has been painted with wood, and I'm starting to build the forward superstructure.

The dark color of the decks is a bit dark (pun intended). It will be fixed when painting the walls. The portholes have been already opened with a pin.

I'll pass a black pen over the hangar doors to give texture to the paper.

Moving fast.

The forward bridge and the hangar of both Walrus are build and painted. Looking for historical information, I found that both airplanes were unloaded some weeks before the fight against the Schanhorst, I'll take a bit of a historical license and let it aboard.

The turret bases are made, painted and glued, but no the turrets itself. So far, the original model looks very realistic and "truthist" (I don't remember the english word)... accurated (that will do)

Placing the rear superstructure, two turrets build so far, A and Y. The ships breakwater is placed too.

The turrets are still without guns nor paint, but already placed. They are going to be spinning around an internal cylinder. The guns are kind of stubby.

The plan is finish the turrets (with guns), and paint all four of them at the same time.

And placing and painting the pieces.

Two turrets are finished, two more are in process. The rear superstructure is taking form.

This ship has a characteristic turret: the central gun is slighty recesed, and that takes it out of alienation when elevated.

Luckily, it has been easy to replicate in my model. The original paper model has three doors in the back of the turrets, but the real ship has only two. That, and the color of the upper surfaces, are the only mistakes that I have found until now.

The paper model is pretty straightforward and enjoyable, I recomend it. A LOT of graphical instructions.

And... all the turrets are done, the catapult is done and painted too, and the superstructure is being assembled.

The big dark gray stain in the middle of port side doesn't match with the superstructure pattern, but looking some internet drawings it seems to be ok, so I let it be.

Next, a bit of paint, gluing the catapult and attaching the Walrus craddle, continue the assembly.

As I said, easy and funny

After so many days making the 1/700 Uss Constitution, I retook the HMS Belfast.

This pictures show some advances to the superstructures, with the decks mounted (but not glued) and dismounted.

Due to the ships design, I can't glue the rear decks until I paint the inner superstructures, place the torpedo tubes and the lifeboats. Same with the main castle, needs a hand of paint

I had a small problem with the pieces 44, seems to have been mislabeled and had to swap them from port to starboard. Had problems with the 46 pieces, there was no way to find them until I made a search cm by cm. At least, I faund then in the "miscelaneaous" page, up and down the center of the page.

As I said, this ship keeps being a marvell to assemble
