The 44 pieces where well labeled, just that the open side goes outside, to be covered with the 39 pieces.

Luckily the fix was easy. The torpedo launchers and boats that go on this deck are installed and the upper deck glued. Just remains to place the 39 pieces to cover all the work.

And the armored cover of the torpedo tubes deck was placed, more of the superstructure is build and painted.

Very soon the hull will be finished and the detailed work will begin: cranes, boxes, anchors, etc, etc

Today I have more time.

The anchors are placed, the superstructure almost finished, just a deck remains of the forward superstructure, the rafts supports are starting to be placed.

All around the ship, ladders, breakwaters, and small pieces start to be placed.

As I said, a pleasure to build.

And a pleasure to watch being built. A little better focus would be helpful though.

Hi, elliott.

Yes, the pictures use to be a bit unfocused, but it is because the ship is 26.7 cm long, and that means that each deck is 3 mm high. It's hard to find a camera that takes that level of detail.

Anyway, that's not important now because last weekend I lost my camera, and, as you remember, some &%·R$$ pickpocketed my cellphone some weeks ago. Yes, this last month and half have been the worst time in two years. And, living in Venezuela, it's very possible that I wont buy another camera until the end of the next year.

On another mood, the last deck of the superstructure is placed and finished. Now comes the funnels and the miriad of details needed to finish a ship. My goal is to finish before new year.

Man, I hate that your camera got stolen too. You got to quit going outside. Well, keep us posted on the progress of the build and take a pic when, and if, you are able.

Well, Elliot, the camera was not stolen but the briefcase where I had it went unstitched.

Since then I've been talking with my friends and "it's not me" but the country. Everybody is being harassed. My fiancee, for example, was robbed inside the subway two days ago: four men with pistols robbed everybody in the wagon and escaped without problems.

Going back to the real theme of this forum, I'm still building the ship. I placed a small room between the two funnels, and I'm building the 4-inch (102 mm) Mk XVI dual purpose guns.

Oct 3 was my birthday, and I was gifted with an oldie camera from just the beginning of the digital age. So this picture is the only one more or less focused, sorry (Photography is one of my passions)

Well, a belated Happy Birthday to you Alejandro! And at least you have a camera again. That's good news. You'll have it figured out before long and you'll be back in the saddle. Looking forward to more updates and pics.

Restarting the HMS Belfast

Sadly, the pictures are a shame. But the front funnel is ready and the small details over the ship are being placed. The instructions seems to hint a round cylinder over the funnel, but the pieces are for a shallow oval. And, the number of the funnels are confusing (both funnels are identified the same). It's the first time I have something bad to say about this kit.

The rest, easy and fine as always with this ship
