Alfa Submarine (Zetka)

My next submarine for my collection is the '99 Zetka Alfa class submarine.
At the first look, it seems like a hand-drawn model with many mistakes.

Would sanding down the formers help with getting a better fit?

I have imported a number of the free models I have acquired to sketchup to test the state of them and the number that fit pieces properly, zilch, nada, none. Not talkin about Yoav or folk of that standard but others around and about. What is the standard practise other than give up and do something else? Is there a list of producers of bad and pirated kits?
