This is a treat! I hope you keep posting, the color difference isn't that bad (I can't really tell from the photos).

Everyone is right the fading is not that obvious. I like to let my kits fade for a couple years before preserving anyway because the printed colors are typically too deep anyway.
Nice looking build, I forgot about this model. |

Hello YuG:
You are using the same fine skills here we saw you apply to Fuso. Mike |

Well I am glad to see this ship being built by you. I see no flaws and it happens to be at the top of my faves of ships from around the world. I for one look forward and will be glad to encourage. Your friend, Rick

I would love to see you continue the build but I understand when something just doesn't look right and it sort of sucks the desire-to-build out of you. Over time it should fade to be unnoticeable. Plus with the camo on it the differences hide pretty well. Keep cutting I say.

Paint it. Really! Your workmanship is incredible. I personally don't think the real ship ever looked that good. Whatever you do please don't raise the bar any higher! I need an elevator to get to it as it is.

The second edition BISMARCK in camouflage painting was a complete desaster; more than 20 sheets had to be reprinted and send to the customers for free. Inaccuracy of the colours was the principal reason ...
With lovely greetings the Wilfried |

Thank you all for encouraging words.
Douglas and barry, thank you for the info about acrylic coating spray. I’ll give it a try. Zathros, paint it must be a good idea. As the case may be I will consider it later. Reading Wilfried’s comment I remember coloring of yellow encircled section was reverse in original kit. That is, now black section was printed white and now white section was printed black. So, I painted black over white section using water color and for black section glued peeled off thin top layer of white paper over there. I hope no more misprint in this kit…. At that point I took it for granted that correction and modification is inevitable accompaniment to paper model so I didn’t think of claiming a replacement …. BTW, I took attached photo six months ago putting the model on the floor. Light source was only ceiling light about two meters (seven feet) above the floor. To my joy, in this light setting color deterioration isn’t so noticeable. |
