Impressive! This is one of HMV's finest kits, and you are building it perfectly.

It's beautiful. The issues you describe in your narrative are not evident in the images, so you clearly overcame the problems.

Your CAP ARCONA is amazing! I always loved the model in the german maritime museum in Bremerhaven since I was a child.
Glad to see this well built HMV construction, which is still sleeping in my collection together with the foto etched detail set. |

I had been shelving the kit for many years but hadn´t been able to obtain the etch set thus the long delay. I used the model from Bremerhaven as a further reference although it is not the builder´s model. But as I have already stated - the building is a major undertaking and requires a substantial amout of model-making abilities to achieve a satisfying degree. There is a couple who builds Cap Arcona somewhere on a German papermodel forum, but I ignored that. The German fori are alwasy a bit strange: the people are rude and write stuff that have nothing to do with the subject. That is why I restrict myself to Papermodelers.

Give me 50 years of practice and I will be able to do something of this level.
And wish me a looooong life, please. I'll need it. |

That looks really good. The level of detail that you have added really brings the model to life. Thank you for sharing the build.
