Abhovi your technique makes a very good looking deadeye but it doesn't match the period.
The photo of the replica Endeavor shows a link around the deadeye and two links below which would have to be mode from very fine wire. I didn't feel I had the ability or the time for such fine work. cheers Jim |

You are right and if no deadeyes on your model works for you, so be it.
But using thin wire and a flat metal mould to act as a spacer you can twist the wire again an snip of one end. The other one goes into the model. By making the mould slightly tapering you can vary the length of the link. Paper chain-plates can be glued on afterwards if you want them, covering the twist and the spot where the wire disappears into the hull planking. Just a suggestion... |

Yes that would work fine.
I never thought of twisting the wire, I was always thinking of individual links. As they said about the space shuttle crash, a failure of imagination. cheers Jim |
