Dear Thales:
Very educational. Do you glue or solder the wires? Thank you very much for sharing your technique. Pablo |

I glue the thread. 1 coat of water, 2 coats of thinned PVA, then 1 coat of CA.

do you put the CA on the thread while it's still wet. I love the simplicity of the rig and want to try this. At $25 per photo etch sheet it can be costly to add rails to models. These look great and allow for customizing as well.

I let the PVA dry before putting the CA on it. |

Part 4!
I just finished part 4, the remainder of the forward superstructure.
This video now includes a 2nd camera, narration (voice for silent movies, face for radio), and some action shots. I found another problem with this kit (among the many others already). The mast for the forward radar booth is not in the parts. So I had to scratch build one. But the old girl is starting to come together. Gallery: Album: uss san francisco |

Excellent work. I have just been reading about the First Naval Battle of Guadalcanal on 13 November 1942, in which San Francisco received serious damage resulting in the death of Admiral Daniel Callaghan.
