David Bushnell’s “Turtle” Submarine, created by prlplus
Does anyone know how to contact purples, or know where his kit can be found?
He had a Revolutionary War kit: -paper model is David Bushnell’s “Turtle” Submarine, created by prlplus. There are 1:35 and 1:50 two scale versions The link is no longer working but, unlike other versions, his is the clam shaped version that historians suggest may have been the true vessel, not the long held barrel shaped. I'm attaching a pic of his kit. If you know where it can be found or how to reach him, please let me know. Regards!

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but there is a 1:12 scale model by Heinkel Models.

Evidently I'm a "Johnny Come Lately". It seems there's a tread here, which I just found, regarding the Heinkel 1/12 Turtle Submarine.

However, that kit represents the barrel shaped Turtle that had persisted for decades as the actual shape of the first sub. Though nothing is definitive, there was some evidence that the Turtle was actually more clam shaped, permitting the operator to manage the vehicle easier and not have the space the barrel shape would provide. The one I am asking about is the clam shaped version that this author made. I was interested in making both versions and comparing them in the same scale. Thanks again...

Here's some more info about this little ship. I got my book, Turtle, by Manstan & Frese today; the top of the cover showing the turtle-like shape, not the grade school barrel shape that many of us were raised to assume was true:

Here's the link to the ship that I was seeking, but does not seem to connect to the drop box anymore. Anyone know how to reach the author? Pirate site -and a pic that someone did of it, showing it a pretty tight looking little model when well built:
