USS Constitution scratch build at 1/700 scale!

Yes, a ship of the line at 1/700 scale!

At first I started to take measures like a joke, but when everything started to take form... I found miself deciding to proceed.

The ship is going to be 13.29 cm bowspirit to spanker and 10.57 cm from top of the mainmast to keel

About the scale, just see my previous post

So... let's sail!

Yes, jleslie48, I think so!

My fiancee asked me a copy of the Constitution for her house, so I'll do two ships. Jeje maybe I'll end with a shipyard?

Here the squeleton pieces for both ships compared with thw HMS Onslow at the same 1/700 scale. I'll straight them with a lot of books before the assembly

I love work in constant scale. It really gives you a feel for what these ships are like compared to a frame of reference you can understand. For 1:100 I typically make a yellow bird school bus for scale. At 1:700 I don't think the school bus will work though. Maybe the empire state building would be a good reference at 1:700

Where did you get the plans fore the constitution? they look nice.

I just made a seach and found this page
USS Constitution ship model plans USS Constitution ship model plans - $2.00 : Best Ship Model Plans, ship model plans andrawings store

Found the overall lenght, divided by 700, resized and printed. If it goes well, I'm planing to do my own cardmodels and publish them in exclange for any contribution you'll want to do (if any). As I don't have accounts outside Venezuela, Amazon gift cards will do fine.

But first, of course, I must finish my saliling frigate

Me too. I'm interested in seeing how this turns out. Rigging this one should be a challenge.

I am watching as well. I would be interested to scale this to 1/300 to match my Santa Maria.

Looks very promising Draco!
