Very few work made this weekend. I was recovering from a very heavy month in the job.
So, just the base of the model, the other anchor and the beginnings of the masts.
The boring amount of machine guns made me lost motivation, I'm making the rest of the parts meanwhile.
My next ship will be the Mauritania in WWI camouflage, and probably the Lusitania at the same time.

Assembling the masts, and placing the last anchor.
I assembled the mast backwards, the right way to do it is: first the frontal mast base with both horizontal supports, then the upper front mast with the main radar antena, and last the rear mast. As I said, I made it backwards. :-(
But I made it.
I discovered an easier way to do the guns at this scale: use long barrels to simplify the assembly, and later cut the excess.
About the main radar antena, both 22 rectangles are the wrong size: the antena is squared and wireframed, not solid. I scratchbuild it with acetate.

Painting the mast, placing the last searchlight, starting the propellers.
But the main part of my time was used assembling a Wing Commander Privateer Talon.

The BB-57 South Dakota is finished.
And I'm not happy saying that, because is finished due that the testors plastic model glue that I use to cement masts, propeller shafs, gun barrels and so on, was exausted yesterday. And another new one is worth half of my montly income in Venezuela... if the only plastic models shop in the country had the dollars to import it.
Luckily, I finished the propellers and rear crane, remaining just around 60 machine guns.
This is going to change heavilly my list of proyected designs. My J-35 Draken bare metal, for example, will never be made because the aluminium paint isn't available.
