M/S Nordlys 1:250

The next ship wil be the M/S Nordlys in schaal 1:250.
We have seen this ship in the Geiranger Fjord in 2013:

( Pictures taken by me )
My wife liked this ship and asked me to build it
So I found this ship at Wilhelmshavener modellbaubogen in Germany

Just a "simple" drawing and not made by any computer

Just a couple of pages:

and an German description:

To now more of this ship: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_Nordlys_(1994)

And I'm started

Cut out the bottom and ribs:

drawing the lines also on the other side:

And dry fitting:

she will become just over half a meter (+/- 20 inch)

I did a test for cutting the windows out, but if I going to do that

Hello, Fred!

It seems, that this kit has quite a problem zone at the transition between the straight, boxshaped bulk of the hull and the bow - Some say, it's a bug, some say it's just tricky. Anyway, better be warned!

There are (at least) three build reports on a German forum, which might help to tackle that critical step:
Hurtigruten-Schiff NORDLYS - Abgeschlossene Bauberichte - Kartonbau.de - Alles rund um Papiermodelle, Kartonmodellbau und Bastelbogen
KONG HARALD - Möwe-Verlag, 1:250-FERTIG !! - Abgeschlossene Bauberichte - Kartonbau.de - Alles rund um Papiermodelle, Kartonmodellbau und Bastelbogen
FERTIG WHV - Kong Harald - 1:250 - Wiederaufnahme - Bauberichte Schiffe - Kartonbau.de - Alles rund um Papiermodelle, Kartonmodellbau und Bastelbogen

Good luck and have fun!
Michi
