Hello dear friends,
thank you very much for your comments, feedback and kind words. I do appreciate it a lot and it is a great honour and motivation for me. The work on RK continues with decoration on QG, there are quite plenty of gilded pieces and also larger sculptures in the roofs. I had to create decoration according to other ships from this period (I find inspiration at museum models, historical paintings and drawings - mainly by Van de Velde) cause in Vale´s painting there are no exact details at this area.

And here I have started to make decorative frames around gunports - they are assembled from 4 parts and card base:

For interest I am bringing some pictures of the Royal Katherine with my (meanwhile) best card model - Sovereign of the Seas. Please enjoy them:

During several days I have finished all frames. Here are some pics:

Now I continue with the construction of the bow. I had to make some changes to achieve more realistic design by Vale´s painting. BTW, I have found inspiration in the photos of this Sheldon´s model:

I have also tried to make a grating (it is made from longitudinal wooden laths - they were also used on English ships from that period), but I do not have any accurate plans or images that could help me with a realistic appearance. Now I'm thinking about design of seats of ease, I have several options but I am not sure, which of them is suitable for Royal Katherine from 1670... If you have historically more accurate information, I will be very grateful for your help.

I have started making the most demanding statue at the bow. First I created the horse - it is made in stages and each part is then hardened in the oven. After baking/hardening I decided to modify and improve the statue of horse (head, neck and other details).
The horseman was completd from several separately created parts and finished on horseback. In the end I added harness and let harden complete statue again in the oven.

Before finishing the horseman was a little leaned forward to look like an original in Vale´s painting. The sculpture was placed on the bow of RK and I have finished other sculptures and decoration according to Vale´s painting. It is not finished yet, I will fill the inner space (between knights) to match it to museum models from this period.
