FPSO Petrojarl Cidade de Rio das Ostras - 1:250 - JSC/Scaldis special edition
I have started on the enlarged 1:250 model of FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading) Petrojarl Cidade de Rio das Ostras, an unusual vessel from which the Brazilian Siri oilfield is being produced. The original vessel is a tanker converted into an oil production vessel. The original model is in scale 1:400, but Scaldis had a number of enlarged kits and lasercut detail sets made.

Looks like a nice project to start up.
I looked up the actual ship and the model. There are a lot of details to put on the model. The laser cut parts look to be very helpful.

I previously built the Bredford Dolphin re-scaled drilling rig, that was also a nice one to construct. Besides the lasercut set I am using 1:250 lasercut railings too for extra detail. Not entirely sure yet if and how I will do the different pipes on board.

And here is the bridge. I have added lasercut railings here, which aren't in the upscaled detail set.

I am glad to see this project, Marco.
All of your model projects are fascinating, but I only recently discovered the existence of this FPSO type of vessel and have become quite interested in them. I hope to learn a lot from following your build. Don |

Thank you! Here's a bit more work on the superstructure of the vessel.

Hello Marco - nice to see you doing another build.
Look forward to this one as well as I have always been interested in this vessel. How long will the finished shop be? Enjoying Ghana?

Yeah, Ghana is nice! The model will be about 78 cm long. Since I work for an oil company, and we may work with FPSO vessels in the future, I'll have to find a place to display the finished model in the office.
