More progress! Hull side(s) attached, guide holes for railing posts drilled, and props installed and painted bronze.

Wow, almost a month since my last post! I am really getting good at neglecting my threads here.

I didn't neglect this build though. I finished it mid last week. I was dreading the railing, but I had it done quicker than I thought I would.

Anyway, to catch up here:
  1. Most of the parts fit really well. I did paint the inside of the funnels red instead of using the red "cap" that was provided.
  2. The steps were modified so they mounted at an angle which was needed for life boat clearance and to match my few references better.
  3. The rigging was relatively easy for this one - drill holes insert thread and glue in place with superglue.
  4. rails - All stanchion locations were drilled out a while back.
    • I cut all the needed stanchions from .6 mm plastruct rod and glued them in place.
    • I used thread as a mid rail and fabricated a gauge to get it placed at the right height.
    • I used 0.6 mm plastruct rod for the top rails. The main deck curved ones were formed by curling them like a ribbon.
    • Then I painted the whole mess black.
After all that, I ended up with this...

Nice work, Greg!

Kind of reminds me of a wingless steam punk B-36.
