Some progress on the Superstructure. The Main Engine Vent, Forward Funnel and Rear Funnel Base. The vent had some rather fine cutting involved - that's the bit that looks like a Space Invader . No filler or paint had been added when I took these pictures.

The last pic is an overall view of where I'm up to.

Cheers, Danny

top notch, amazing butt joints. The contours of the funnel base are excellent.

Some more work done. The Funnel Bases and Pipework for the funnels. I've also fitted the 1.6mm x 0.2mm Step Irons to the funnels. The irons still need a bit of straightening and painting.

Cheers, Danny

Thanks for the compliment 7TP.

Both Funnels are now finished and fitted to the superstructure. There's some minor wire straightening to do, and then I'll give the assembly a couple of coats of Testor's Dullcote which should even out all the paint touch-ups.

The macro photography isn't doing me any favours - everything looks MUCH better viewed without magnification .

Cheers, Danny

I've built the platform for the two 25mm AA Guns, and the guns themselves. There are 26 parts to each gun. The barrels are 0.3mm Ni-Ag tubing, 12mm long. The recoil springs are 0.2mm wire.

Cheers, Danny

Great looking AA guns Danny. Has anyone told you that you do excellent work? If not, you've been told now;<)

Thank you Don, Elliott and Christian. I noticed that you were getting into Card Modelling while working you're away from home. Good luck with it, have you started anything yet?

Here's one last pic of the AA Guns before I pack them away for a while. They'll be fitted later on in the build to avoid any damage.

Another step forward is the PE railing for the AA Gun Platform. This was a bit tricky to fit, as the stanchions on the aftermarket stuff I bought are a bit further apart than the positions indicated in the kit. This puts them a bit out of alignment as they travel around the bends, but I can live with it.

There are also two tiny eyebolts to accept some rigging. I didn't notice these until I'd finished everything else, it would have been easier to drill the holes for them earlier. I made them from 0.2mm wire, shaped like a split-pin and CA'd in.

Cheers, Danny
