Hey Kentyler great photos.
The only trouble is if I make a mistake everybody will know. Here is a first attempt at a frame. I am a fun of box beams for torsional rigidity. Maybe unnecessary but it should eliminate a twisted hull. I am going to use 1/4" balsa for the ribs hoping to eliminate the sharp edges of narrow ribs. I should be able to sand across the ribs and put the skin on them directly. The plywood was a mistake. I was fooled by using 1/32" plywood on a previous model. It turns out that 1/16 is somewhat cheaper than 1/32". The 1/32" can be cut with scissors like card. The 1/16" cannot be cut with scissors. The result is bad joints and bad fits. However I am committed so press on. cheers Jim |

A very original way to make a ship's hull. I will be following your thread with great interest, always keen to learn.

Very promising start!
I was not aware that there is the museum ship named after one of the most famous Polish writers Joseph Conrad - Jozef Teodor Konrad Korzeniowski, born in Berdyczow.

Thanks abhovi abd strk but don't think I know what I am doing here.
This is very much experimental stuff. I have been on the road so not much progress but some of the central ribs in place. The ribs are balsa wood. I am hoping to avoid the hard edge of thin card ribs. cheers Jim |

I am continuing to work on the model and take pictures but can't load them up to my
computer due to a bug in the photo program "shotwell" and so can't load them to papermodelers. Have reported the bug and the pics will stay in the camera for now. cheers Jim |

I guess it's time to restart this thread. Unfortunately there is not a lot of progress due to
life getting in the way. The Linux software problem was resolved around the year end so I can now post pictures. I will dribble them out with the date they were taken. These are July 17 2017. Just some more ribs. cheers Jim |

Glad to see you restarting this thread Jim. Once caught up on pics hope this build can move right on along.
