Fun Jim to see how you're approaching the rigging I think it will be time saving. I'm not really on the same area as still on the foremast unfortunately...but learning as I go Are you making your own blocks?

A little progress on the Conrad. The main is just about complete, the shroud deadeyes
laced and the chain halyard tackles in place. Only the mizzen braces left to do. The mizzen is in place and am starting to put in stays and backstays. Lots of loose ends, literally. cheers Jim |

Impressive progress Jim. The additional lines add a lot to the model. I have some idea of the time involved at least how much time it would take me, anyway ha. My model is simpler in some respects as doesn't have split topsails and topgallants... looking good there

Hello all, it has been a while.
The Conrad is getting close. All of the running rigging is in place and most of the standing rigging. I tried a new method of putting on only the last shroud of each mast. This was to keep space open for access to the pinrails. Not sure whether this made it easier or not. So now the remaining shrouds have to go on. Also working on the rear deck. There is a boom and gaff to go and their rigging. Last is a rudder. If ithe model gets done in time the model will go to the annual show/judging at the Constitution museum in Boston. cheers Jim |

Thanks Sharunas, Mike and Birder,
The model actually got finished and is in the model show at the USS Constitution museum. Because of my usual procrastination, I finished so late that there was no time to take pictures. I have to pick up the model March 1 so I will take some final pictures then and close this thread. The next one will be paper. cheers Jim |
