Go on with the deckhouse, lots of pieces to cut and glue

Hmmm...number 79a? I already used number 79 so what is this?

Aha...the backside of the stair looks like this:

And with the little piece it looks like this. Nice detail but still I don't like it. I ordered laser cut stairs whit railings so I'll wait for them before I take a decision with to use :

The construction of the deckhouse is ready:

It starts to look like a deckhouse.

Behind the deckhouse is the engine room and that is connected with the deckhouse , so I made a start with the engine room:

That looks like this ( All in dry fit )

After several try's I managed to make a pipe from paper.
I want pipes with the flanges ( is that the right word?)

This means a lot work, this piece cost me 1,5 hour

Flanges is the correct word, yes!

From paper that is an amazing pipe. Excellent work!

I'm busy testing with the pipes but I don't know how long they have to be.
( From flange to flange) Anybody do?
I think the are around 6 to 8 meters??

There is a photo of the deck looking down from the bridge on Auke Vissers site. The main fore and aft pipes look like the flanges are at at 8m?

I am curious how you managed the pipe bends in paper?

One builder used electrical wiring for these pipes.

Yesterday a package arrived from Poland with stairs en railings:

Just couldn't resist of making one
Right the original stair and left the laser cut stair.

How big this stair is...7 mm and I have to make 20 pieces

On the deckhouse also the stairs will be replaced and I go on withe them.

It makes me happy

No comparison between the original and lasercut ladders - lasercut wins hands down. The lasercut ladders and railings will make a nice contrast between them and the huge bulk of the ship.
