If a model fascinates me, I keep going. It's a good thing!

And here is the boat deck installed on the ship, and the railings enclosing the promenade:

It looks terrific.
KWdG was a very graceful ship, wasn't it?

Yes it was Don, although contemporary witnesses seemed to be more impressed by its dimensions using descriptions as "mighty colossus" or "giant deckhouse" and "by far outmatching all other ships by that time operating at sea" for this "marvel of ship engineering", launched in the presence of the emperor himself (the ships name referring to his grand father) alltogether emphasizing power an strenght much more than beauty due to an atmosphere of national pride typical for that period, insofar as you follow the newspapers and the christening poem of 1897...

From an actual point of view the ship has really elegant lines and seems to slide over the sea on contemporary paintings and photos instead of pounding an rolling.

I found much more praise of the interior design than the outer. Maybe this could be a sign that people by that time did not appreciate its appearance as we do today

Sorry Marco for that excursus into the past. My build of a display you can find here is located exactly at the place where KWdG started and arrived in Bremerhaven, so I have to build it by myself sometimes - Your build is still amazing and motivating

Always good to hear a bit more background!

Here is the bridge, with interior. I'm happy with the way it turned out - please note that I took the pictures before the glue had fully dried.

And now for those typical four funnels:

And here are the first of the air intakes. There are a lot of these, a big challenge in building this model, but also crucial for the way she looks. At least the insides are already printed in red.
