Duyfken 1606 (1:100 from scratch)

Hello everybody,
For last 2-3 months I have been working on a very big project and I realized that my addiction to scissiors and glue is stronger than to drawing. There is a long way ahead of me, so in the meantime I prepared this small ship to have a possibility to cut and glue some paper from time to time.
I have never been on Duyfken replica, so I don't have thousands of pictures of her. Although I have some infos from internet I will not recreate every single plank and nail. The model will be rather "something similar to Duyfken replica":-)))
First stage and first pictures

If you want details, I think I can help.
I was involved in the research for the build in the nineties.

Ab,
I know I can relay on you, your knowledge and you patience as I ask you many questions all the time:-).
Saying "something similar" I mean I am not going to recreate details which are too small for 1:100 scale, or details which are hidden somwhere under the deck.
But...well...maybe one question: gun carriages have no blocks, only ropes tied to some kind of "jaws" on the sides.I can't see breeching either. Are those guns so small that blocks and full rigging were not needed to operate?

Hello,
I added two layers and I am very happy with the effect. Hull lines are mild, with no visible bumps. But she still looks ugly and is not similar to Duyfken:-)))
Now I add some structures on the deck as a support for the main cabin - that's probably the most difficult stage.

Hello all,
I added cabin "frames", and put inside some equipement like pumps, artilery, barrels, chests, etc.
The whole structure seems to be quite stable, rigid so I glued next "under-plank" layer. Now she is ready for upper decks:

Just a question about your impeccable work, Tomek. Do you use anything between the first and the second layer of planking? Filler or whatever?

This is a wonderful project. I am enjoying your narrative, the excellent images, your artisanship, and your very well-informed dialog with abhovi.

Don, thank you for so high rating of my abilities. Well, I assure you, that my models are far, far behind the best Polish paper modellers' masterpieces. I get back home from a contest or an exhibition and I'm broken and depressed, when I compare my "artisanship" to real mastery:-))) Of course I am joking, but have a look at these pictures (especially at this old red bus/coach). All is made of paper (the link is not of my gallery, but I hope Mr "batonus" -a very good modeller- will not be angry) https://www.fotosik.pl/u/batonus/album/2467250

Ab, I don't put anything between layers. My experience with wood is poor, but I imagine that wooden planks on models are sometimes bent with some force. In case of cardboard you MUST shape planks PRECISELY in such a way that they fit perfectly to the hull without glue. You place a shaped plank on the model and it should looks the same with or without glue. And I shape wider planks not only along but also across. The second rule is "glue only on frames", or to be more precise "on the places, where the plank touches the first layer". On the picture you can see marks, where glue should be placed and a shaped plank below. And it MUST NOT be water-based glue, because it "shrinks" when dries and "pulls" planks towards the first layer (and "skinny cow's ribs" appear:-///)
I hope my English is understandable:-)

Your hull is looking really ship shape. How did you such a good result without any filling?
