I did read the post correctly, in fact 4 times. I suppose ports are on port side only as that is the side to be displayed? Coming from a naval family I know gun ports were on both the starboard & port sides of a ship. He did not answer my question.

Really wonderful progress. It would be a dream for the future to build a model of this ship in my favourite scale 1/72.

Great progress, Tomek. You make me feel proud.
For anyone who is interested in the final looks of the hull, we (my partner-in-crime Rene Hendrickx and me) are working on a 3D representation of the ship in Delftship. Just ignore the upper contour of the hull, it will be reshaped in due time. At the moment we are especially interested in the internal strengthening of the construction by 7 massive crosses in the hold. This vessel was our most famous man-of-war in the Anglo-Dutch Wars, commanded by admiral Michiel Adriaanszn de Ruyter. I'm very happy that Tomek is making this kit of the ship, which deserves to be built over and over again by modelers. |

Hi all,
A year has passed since the last activity here. It was difficult year for me personally, (but I managed to designed two ships:-)), now I'm slowly getting back to this magnificent ship. I finished gunports frames and put the final colour layer on the stern... Now I try to lay planks. I started with two longer ones called "zandstroken"... ...then glued next 10 planks which are all still below the waterline... It takes more time then I expected, so I must prepare for very long evenings Best Tomek |

I admire your planking technique.
It seems to resemble the method used by wood model builders. Mike |

Hi Tomek!
Nice work on the planks! I like the way you are including half-stealer planks. Also your photography is excellent! What camera do you use? Looking forward to seeing more! -Radek

Thank you Mike and Radek
Radek, you will not believe, but I take pictures with the very, very old camera Olympus FE-110:-)))) It still works and has phenomenal makro options (even when I touch the object with the camera lens the picture is still very sharp). The key is the amount of light and a dark background. I use two dedicated bulbs (2x 4900 lm) with two small white umbrellas. Tomek |
