Scratch building the WW2 HMS Ark Royal

Hello all,

Starting a new scratch build that was on my list for a long time - the ww2 HMS Ark Royal at a scale of 1-300.
More than 10 years ago I started to build the Maly Modlaz Ark Royal, but after building the hull, I was not happy with the printed colors, so I repainted it with a brush, added some detailing of the bridge, and than stooped. Some old pictures of the model

Now, I am starting a new model from scratch. It is based on Profile Morskie pdf drawings. Hope that this time it will be to the finish line.

Will love following your design process...the MM Ark Royal is on my project list but even the reprint has some odd colouration (IMHO)...

Thanks SJPONeill, CMDRTED, MacSongLi.

It's only a small start and a very long way from a finished model.

Your 1st mm ark actually was fitting out pretty good, shame you didn't finish. Hope your current model turns out good.

Very nice!
Have a look at Gerry's Naval Planes.
You may populate your deck later on with these.

Just enlarge them 150%.

Hello all,

Design work on this model is very slow, but moving forward. After locating the frames, started to work on the balconies located at both port and starboard. Is there a more "professional" name for this balconies?

Had to do some adjustments that the balcony is located at the right place with regard to the part bonded (see arrow).

In some of the cut outs, bonded from the inside the railing (done from sewing wire), adding for reference 2 pictures found in the internet.

And the result in paper...
