I am very sorry to hear that. Your beginnings seemed to be really promising and your technique was impressing. All the best for the following project!

Having overcome the main frustrations I keep on building. After all, an older ship often shows some contours of the frames through the outer plating. A bit premature for a 2-3 year-old-vessel, though. ....The middle segment of the shell plating fitted perfectly, with all the cut-outs of the promenade. I left some 2 mm on each side margin. The furniture on the promenade deck looks splendid from the outside, peeping through the windows. I keep telling myself not to take things too seriously. I give my very best. But it is still a model for myself, not a public showcase. The only model maker with a clear judgement is my dad, and he knows from 60 years of Wilhelmshavener ship models that there are always some minor imperfections, mostly not seen by non-professional Viewers. So: don´t let us waste too much thinking on the imperfections and move on to the nicer details....

Good luck for the further build! I think, the TS HAMBURG is worth it

Some more impressions of the pool decks. The funnel and signal mast will come last as not to harm them in the building process.

Hey Hanseat,
i guess i have to build some 100 of those lay banks for my "Hamburg"... Stunning work, congratulations Concerning the problems with the length of the hull plating (i had them, too): i can only advise to cut out the middle section of the hull with excess (otherwise you'll have the same problem as i had, shown in the 1st pic below). For the bow, i'd suggest to glue both bow-parts together and then shove them on the frame scaffolding. Keep up with your "Hamburg", she's an eye-catcher My "Hamburg" is almost finished (2nd pic taken in Dec 2017) and in the end, i think it was worth the effort. Many thanks to the constructor, Carsten H.! Just check the instructions thoroughly, as many parts are mentioned at the end that should be added much sooner. Kind regards Lars

I cut the middle section with excess as many builders had some problems here. At the moment I am working on the davids which have to be changed slightly. The laser cut parts are wrong as to the sliding crane and its base. It will take some time...
