Do you ever come down this side of the world?

Not often, but I was in Cape Town last in 2016.
Here are the cherry picker cranes:

Dear Marco
I was just curious as to how difficult you would rate this build so far and how difficult do you think it is going to get? Really enjoying seeing your progress Regards Kevin

Well, I suppose I have simplified some of the smallest detail down to 8/10, but this model would be 10/10 difficulty if you would go down to the smallest level of detail, that is printed so small it is extremely difficult to handle.
Of course it's building up to the big dishes - no shortcuts there, but lots of lasercut parts.

The big dishes are not the only antennas (antennae?) on the ship. Here are some of the smaller ones.

And more of these little antennas. I've painted those ugly globs of epoxy white now, but I didn't have a better way available here to glue the pins in place.

Lots of Xmas trees Marco!
Epoxy looks like a good solution to me incidentally. Its reached the stage where you need to look after it now as well - I had someone dust a model in mind construction once. They then stacked all the big pieces nicely, and vacuumed away all the little pieces!

Marco, all those antennas are really impressive. Can you describe how you made the holes in the discs? I'm guessing hypodermic needle? The scale and detail is coming along great.

Everyone around the house is instructed what not to touch!
The discs were lasercut, and the quality of the cut is good. The hole in the middle was present, and just needed some slight widening with a regular pin.
