I'm also interested in this model. French pre-dreadnoughts were very -- ah -- unique in appearance, and the Hoche was an extreme example. Actually this kit depicts an "improved" Hoche after the top-heavy superstructure was drastically reduced. Here's an earlier photo of "Le Grand Hotel":

Le Hoche

Careful! Almost all the hull under waterline, was painted green, after being painted red, and this stuff, called "vert de Schweinfurt", was intended to protect the hull from little shells. Only a thin strip of red (minium, anti-rust) was left around waterline, and this is why most people think it was painted all red.
A model, scaled 1/66, is displayed in Paris (but the Maritime Museum is closed until 2022), showing the ship more or less as intended, before completion, and by that time, hulls were still painted red only, just before all French hulls were painted green.

I'm looking forward to your Hoche. The frame looks good.
It is interesting that many kit producers insist on red underwater hulls.
But I agree with Renaud. She was green below the waterline.
