There is a way you can print on cotton fabric to put details and graphics on your sails if you ever decide to make some sails that are more than just plain off-white. You could even print them in solid color.

Print on Fabric

It calls for freezer paper. In the USA that is some paper used to wrap food up to store it in a freezer. It has a plain paper side and a plastic coated side. The plastic coated side forms a bond with the cotton fabric when heat is applied with an iron. A brand name is Reynolds Freezer Paper. The stuff at that link has ReynoldsKitchens on the box, but there is some that just says Reynolds Freezer Paper on the box. I do not know if that is available in your area, but maybe there is an equivalent product that can be used.

You bond the fabric to the freezer paper then send it through the printer so the printing is on the fabric side and not the paper side.

Somewhere it is mentioned that you need to treat the fabric to make the ink from an inkjet printer so it won't wash away or bleed. One product mentioned is Bubble Jet Set 2000. There is a DIY version that product:

I did some printing on fabric many years ago. It worked OK. I found that it is better to bond an over sized piece of fabric to the freezer paper then trim to fit through your printer.

abhovi: I did note take your hint as criticism, on the contrary, I know you are right.
Sorry if I made it sound like that.

Printing Some flags on Chinese silk paper.
This paper is thin and the ink goes right through it. It looks like it is printed on both sides.
Almost looks like a real flag, it even waves in the wind.
