Abeille 13

I love tugs and it's been a long time since I wanted to design a boat model.
So I choose this simple tug, the "Abeille 13", build in England in 1943 (more than 180 ships were build) and after the war some of them were sold. This one (originaly named TID 174) arrived at Le Havre harbord in 1948.
It doesn't seem to be very complicated and that is fine because I am not an expert in ship...
I found rough plans, not very precise, on the internet (2 pages of a models revue).
I use Sketchup for the 3D model.

This ship had different owners so the colours and the structure have changed.
The actual TID 172 is very similar to the first TID 174 (Abeille 13) that I want to build.

Hello Pat_craft.
I like to build ships from scratch too. But I use another software for this work. I mean simple shipbuilding software which allow to get planarization (smoothing) surface of ship body. This is very simple process, but not very fast. I mean DELFTShip or FREEShip software. The last one is russian version which I use. The both software make a ship body skin unfolding wich is very important for modelling. In addition to this software features can make an export of project to file dxf format with 2D and 3D poliline. So this way you can get 2D or 3D model in ACAD and in another alike software.

Good luck.
