1:200 gpm orp wilk

Hi all!! its me again since a lot of time, I have to much work and not time for my models, so sad, but this time I wanted to try another building technique, I downscale my old ORP WILK submarine from GPM to 1:200, then I vectorize the frames to cut them by Laser, its a lot of computer work, but the result is fantastic and it is way much easy to build. Sailors can not wait until is finished!

Regards!
Paúl S.

Looks very good (and the crew appear to be very happy).

Very good start Paul. Can you tell us how the laser cutter works? It seems to save work and the cuts are very accurate. The sailors look happy, do not make them wait as long as the pilot of the Fw 190 !!! Great start, regards.

Thank you all for the kind comments, yeah, due to my work I have several machines and Laser cut is one of them, in this case, is really easy to use, using a CO2 laser beam cut most of the modeling materials except metals.
Well, you need the vectorial drawings to send them to the machine, as this was a test I created the vectorial by hand on the scanned images, doing this I will lose millimetric accuracy in the assembly, the best way is to find the originals vectorial from the designer but that is not a file designer usually give.

In the case you are a 3D model designer, you can export all the frames to a vectorial software to locate them in a sheet and work more easily with it. Not all Laser cut machines work the same but the concept is common to all, a 2D vectorial file.

Continuing with the assembling I finish the hull, the idea is to color the model with alcohol-based marks as the green color, and deck.

Poor FW190 pilot is waiting for a loooong... won't do that with sailors I promise.

Oh sorry for the pictures.

Hi all, re-scaling a scanned model is a hard business, most of the parts won't fit perfectly, but the complete result is still fantastic, working in some deck details and guns.

best regards.

Even 1:200 is small and tricky for this boat, looks good.
