Hms queen elizabeth

UKs biggest warship was named by the queen.She is 280 metres long and weighs in at 65,000 tons <the ship that is,not the queen,

In reponse the US navy announced unveiling of new Clinton class carriers .

Ya, but it looks like the Clinton's are going to carry an F-14. Only thing cooler than that would be an F-4!!

It is HMS Illustrious, the last of the Falklands era carriers. I was at the ceremony yesterday and a great day was had by all. I hope to post some pics as soon as I can find my download cable.
Incidentally, I was talking to one of the engineers involved with the design of the ship and he has designed a 1/200 scale model of the ship in card. It was designed as a schools project for the local primary schools here and is built in a modular fashion after the real thing. He has graciously agreed to share the template with me. More of this to follow so stay posted folks.
