HMV "Wuppertal" North Sea Trawler
This was my first serious attempt at a ship model, and a paper model. I made a lot of mistakes, and it's not perfect by any means but I learned a lot about both ships and modelling in paper! It's a nice kit, with no major issues apparent.
Apart from the pva glue, rigging, and cocktail stick reinforcements for the masts, it's 100% paper. Anyway, here are the pics: |

Never seen better ! Really nice piece. I've wondered about some of these kits. Now we know their potential in the hands of a master builder.

Thanks for the comments! BTW I’m not a master builder - I’ve only built the three posted on here. I really like HMV models, ever since seeing them on sale at the Hamburg Maritime Museum. Until then, I didn’t realise what you could do with paper...I’d always built plastic aircraft and cars mainly up to that point.

Excellent work and a well deserved award. Congratulations.
You used laser cut parts as well?
