Simplicity Summer Breeze.

After many small scale models, relatively speaking, I am considering building a 1:1 scale of this simple boat.
Summer Breeze - a lot of skiff from a little wood.
Note it only uses 2 sheets but makes the fullest use of those sheets and you get a rather useable model! (-=
Of course this could also sit in my To-Do pile either. Just thought I'd share this model.

Cheers,

John Gay

I've decided to start with a scale model.
I cut card-stock to 5.5" X 11" to emulate two sheets of plywood.
Then I divided 11/96 to get a scale factor and multiplied that factor by the various measurements given in the plans. I just wanted a rough model that I assembled in a few hours last night.

Top View.

Model came out at just about 16 inches long.

View from the bow.

And the stern.

And from the side to give a view of the sweep.

Now I really want to try the 1:1 scale from 1/4" Raw Paper (-=

Looks like a nice little boat John! If aren't already aware of it, you might want to check out this site:http://duckworksmagazine.com/

The fun part about these "nail and glue" boats is getting the chine logs properly beveled so that they mate well with the plywood.

Hope to see some build pics soon.

Actually, this design won . . .

Boats aren't really my thing, but the thoughts of building a 1:1 scale boat from 1/4" Raw Wood are intriguing (-=
