Nice work, Herky. You have a formidable fleet under development.

Could you identify these kits? I really like the JSC kits AND I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one to have unfinished models. 1/ USS Ward. Finished except for the wire bits, which hang me up on any model. 2 /Icebreaker Mikojan. Finished except for the tiny airplanes. This is why I ignore aircraft carriers. 3 & 4/ Torpedo Boat 98M (75% completed) and SMS 98M (50% completed). I'm easily distracted by all sorts of kits which means you'll probably finish yours before I do. Good luck!

Are they really all 1/250 Herky?
It may be an optical illusion, but in the first image, 613-foot Belfast looks almost as long as 874-foot Shinano, and larger than 689-foot Invincible. Whatever scale they are, they look great. Can't wait to see them completed. Last edited by Don Boose; 02-27-2018 at 08:33 PM. |

Curious, when you have them upsized, how does this affect the card thickness? since most JSC kits (at 1/400) do not require much, if any, lamination to greater thickness?
I don't up or down size, so I have never really thought much about how to compensate other than the parts thicknesses would technically be off when changing scale. Getting smaller would be easier in my mind than going bigger in regards to paper thickness. greg

Would like to see your Ward. This will be my first paper ship when I get one of those roundtuits.
