wirenadpaper, if you are talking about the HMHS Britannic, sister ship of the Titanic, well, I already have the most famous of them. You can see her in some of this pictures.
Mauretania and Lusitania were smaller but faster than the Titanic/Britanic/Olimpic. But this greater speed was achieved at a cost: the stern vibrated soo much that nobody wanted to take the nearer cabins.
Talking about the model, the stern consist of five parts that must be placed with great care. I improvised some internal reinforcements and tabs to help the construction.

This weekend finished the port side of both ships.
And finished the preliminary paint of the starboard side of the Mauritania... just din't take a picture.
Anyway, the hull of the Lusitania is ready for now, until the time for the propellers comes.
Next weekend, the Mauretania port side is going to be painted, and the "A" deck is going to be placed. I'll need to camouflage the superstructure, including the walls, and that's one of the reasons that made me apply a preliminary layer of paint on the hull: to use as a guide.

Last weekend I just had time to my Dh 98 Mosquito, but this one I taked care of both ships.
As you can see, the port side is finished, starboard has been started. Depending of the source there are many changes of detail at the camouflage. My primary source are the b/w pictures, next the colored ones, followed with the model displayed in the IWM website.
The ship carried five 6 inches guns, four ahead and one back, but they are difficult to see and don't appear in the IWM model. I'll use the JSC model assembled by The Mouse RMS Mauretania 1:250 as a guide for the guns.

Ok, I have expended two months trying to paint the right dazzle pattern.
And THERE IS NO WAY.
Each of the models I have found have differences. And yesterday, a colorized picture that I was consulting had big differences with the SAME picture in b/w.
Enought!
So I made the Mauretania civilian again :-(
And at last I'm advancing. I'm motivated again. Good. Perfect. Ok.
Elliot, can you add to the name of this thread the scale (1/700)? Thanks!

I know this was ultimately frustrating, but good research work on the camouflage scheme! But didn't Mauritania briefly wear hospital ship livery, too?

After building these "twin" sisters, will you finish the trio with RMS Aquitania?

Thanks, David. Yes, it was an hospital too, but I don't wanted to start the details search again.
About the Aquitania, my list of ships to do is:
Ms Batory
TMS Seatrout
Kaiser_Wilhelm_der_Grosse
Cap Arcona
SS Kronprinzessin Cecilie (with the hull custom rebuilded)
SS Canberra
USS United States (with the hull custom rebuilded)
Dupuy_de_Lome
FFG-57 Reuben James (custom made from a USN Oliver Hazard Perry model)
DKM Scharnhorst (WWI)
HMS Dreadnought
Admiral Lewczenko (Type Udalov)
CLAA 53 USS San Diego
CG-47 ticonderoga
cl-50 Uss Helena
IJN Chikuma
IJN Tone
IJN Suzuya
hms prince of wales
IJN Yamato
CVN 65 USS Enterprise

And that's only ships. There are submarines, planes, airships, rockets, movie spaceships... so, maybe, in 200 years, I'll do it. Sorry

After finishing my DH 98 Mosquito, it's time to attend my ships. And, leaving back the camouflage's headache, the pressure is less and the joy is more.
As you can see, the "A" deck is placed and the "B" deck has been started. The ship has three decks plus the captains one, so I expect to start to place the details in a month.

The "B" deck is finished... well, if you don't count the rear castle. I'm placing the B-2 bollards at the sides of the rear castle, "A" deck, and I'll place the rest of the bollards and the rest of the rear castle the next weekend.
The original paper model has the bow of the Mauretania with a white line. Maybe it was true while the sea trials, but I can't find a similar picture while it's normal life. So I painted the bow fully black.
I realized that the only civilian motorized ship that I have is the Titanic. It's very posible that I'll assemble another civilian one this year, just to have more variety.
The ship is advancing very quickly, specially because there are two at the same time.
And I'm happy again with the ship.
