RMS Mauretania and Lusitania - 1:700

After a hiatus assembling just paper airplanes at 1/72 scale, I'm resuming the ships assembly.
This time, I'll make two sister ships: The Mauretania and the Lusitania. Both specials at her own way.
By now, I just had cut the "spine" of the ships. The original paper model belongs to Saruñas Vikas, but the drawing is so thin that when I rescale it from 1/250 to 1/700 the detail is lost. I'm making experiments with some graphics editors to correct this.
I expect to publish some pictures the next week

RMS Mauritania and Lusitania are both beautiful ships. Looking forward to your return to ships Alejandro. Best of luck dealing with Mauritania's thin lines.

I've build the JSC/Scaldis Mauretania in scale 1:250.
Scale 1:700 will be very small

Thanks, Elliot.
At last I found the solution duplicating the pixels of the "virtual paper"? It gave me more resolution when printing. I mean, the original surface was 1240 x 1760 pixels, I doubled that.
Fred, yes, I'm planning to build 43 ships and 20 submarines, so... I do them small or I leave the house. Here are my two Titanics at 1/700 scale. Mauretania and Lusitania are going to be 3.5 cm smaller.
Mauretania is going to be in my ownership, Lusitania is a gift, like one of my Titanics.
I've printed the inner structures and decks, this weekend I start the assembly with pictures.
Lusitania had flat topped ventilators. Mauretania had rounded top ventilators. Mauretania also has a noticeable overhang above the lower deck at the forward end of her superstructure, whereas the forward end of Lusitania’s superstructure looked more of a set of stairs.

I took a few moments free to start the building of the ships.
You can see them compared against the Titanic and the HMS Onslow, the smallest motorized ship I have made (The Uss Constitution is smaller but a sailing ship of line)

As allways, without time to write.
Here are the pictures of the advances. There is a small mistake in the original paper model with the 12 deck part, but it's easy to fix.

Thanks, Greg. By the way, I made a Uss Nautilus too, the thread is somewhere by this forum.
I was planning to finish at least the underwater section of the hull, but I just did parts of the ribs and decks.
After finishing both halves, I found that I was cutting wrong the pieces. I mean, the result is going to be the same, but the assembly of the original paper model is different.
As I allways do, I print the model rescaled in black and white, and I paint it while assembling the parts.
The real deck color is a bit lighter, but I'm pursuing a finishing based in the WWI era, with a bit of rust and dusted decks. This is going to be more pronunced in the Mauretania with it's dazzle camouflage

This weekend was dedicated to rest... and cut the last ribs of the hull.
As you can see, I've painted part of the decks.
The bad thing about writting at 10.26 pm is that all the inspired ideas you had about ship construction.... became dispersed by the sign of the pillow.
Good night!

Hulls look nice, straight, sturdy and ribs properly aligned. Looking good Alejandro!
