How are you finding the rigging? I won't be doing another one this complex that's for sure. It's needed a lot of adjustments, and re-jigging, elastic thread is some places, sprue in others...jeez.

Breezing right through actually. Once my supplies arrived!

I’m old hat when it comes to rigging WWI era ships. I’m just excited she didn’t have torpedo nets! Rigging 30 torpedo net booms is the Devils work!

I did some reading on the wire you mentioned, but it seems like it needs straightening somehow (after it comes off the reel) before it's attached - is that correct? Do you have to anneal it or something? What diameter do you use? Thanks!

No, no, no. That’s the miracle of the stuff. It has NO memory and is straight as an arrow. You have to buy the Modelkasten brand. It’s black, arrow straight right off the spool, sags realistically, and strengthens your masts. It’s expensive but the results are cheap at any price. I won’t even consider using anything else.

Here are some photos of it, attached right off the spool!

This is the stuff you want, it’ll change your modeling life

I made a video for you, uploaded to YouTube so everyone can view it. A commentator I’m not, but I hope this helps clear up what I’m on about

Very good, thanks. I'll definitely get some for the next one (assuming there will be a next one - I need a long rest!).

Thanks for all the positive comments guys.

Speedbird: I've followed your superb build with interest, and learned a lot. It's been great to do this rather complex kit in parallel with yours, and to exchange ideas.

Anyway, I’m calling it finished this evening. I've got a display case on order - I really, really don't want to re-do any of that rigging again in the future!

I’ll take some better pictures at some point. Cheers!

Fantastic, better than many museum models I've seen by a country mile.

Magnificent!

The name "Norman Ough" comes to mind.
