Thanks Darius - it took a bit of trial and error to get the support heights right, but after that it was a question of sequentially glueing the rail to each part and checking/adjusting alignment.

It would have been nice to have a profile line (printed in the instructions) to pre-bend the rail to before installation, but I suppose doing it by eye is just part of the process.

Thanks guys!

Started on the port side rail today. Attached the laser-cut frames to the front, and attached the rail in stages to keep it straight. The cocktail stick is there to apply a bit of force upwards while the glue sets:

Glad that’s over!

Another page done...

Next step: Funnels.

I'm a bit late to this party. You asked back on page 1 if anyone had any advice on this model. I have the tropo version about 80% completed. The page you just finished was by far the most difficult series of steps so far. Fitting the bridge superstructure to the deck was a bit of a pain, too. Nothing insurmountable, though.

Cheers
Chris

Thanks for that - I'll be sure to do plenty of trial fitting of the bridge assembly.

Started on the funnels tonight:

Still a lot of laser-cut details to add, and another two to make.

Did some more work on the front deck-houses, and the beginnings of the bridge structure:

The deck is cambered, and slopes up towards the bows, so I tried to get the tops of the structures as horizontal as possible using a steel rule balanced in the roofs, and another Perspex rule to sight against:

This way, I can keep everything within the levelling limits of blobs of PVA as I build the structures up.
