The framing looks good. Do you use anything special to keep everything aligned?

Answer to your question : I use my eyes...and a ruler ; but even so, I do mistakes.

So I have to use my brain, to hide the mistakes : the fore-deck was tilted forward, and I corrected it with addition of lateral rails having the good shape and orientation.

You will see it later in the post.

Bye, and thanks for the congratulations

Hello, I'm back!

Now the winch!
I built it from the original model in a prt, and from wood, the other part : I have had a problem between glue and card which was too spongeous for my too much fluid glue, and nothing was straight enough to be correct. Thus I prefered wood.

Then, the rails, cut from a card calendar...

Mastic has been necessary to fill the emptiness of some places between the deck and the rails.

I then could glue the winch on the main desk, and could begin the cabin in my personal building and plan!

Here the flanks - or walls ? - of the cabin.
Some pieces of lead are put on it to simulate the handles etc.

A "non-glued" assembly to view how it will seem:

Some more details on the rails: made of lead sheet.

Well, it began to look like a true trawler...!

To be continued...

Bye!

The wheelhouse, the cabin, the lights

Hi again!

There, I added some single details before building the cabins.

Brakes for the winch:

I shall change the cabin with the wheelroom, to make it larger anf fitted with my project : to lighten the model.
So, below, the original "round" room will be re-built.

After this small preview of the whole ship, I began the most important change.
The following building is not glued : it was a try.
It allowed me to imagine the place of the batteries, electric cables and LEDs.

Some details and the beginning of paintings : I could improve a lot of greens to prepare the definitive green of the hull.

To be continued...

Bye!

Salut à tous!

At this stage, I began to place the LEDs...if I can !

That, it's to show off!! (I am an ignorant in electronics : the drawings were done by my yonger son, who is a genius in everything ).

A preview of the located LEDs:

Some more details...

A suivre... sorry, to be continued!

Salut à tous!

A new post to show how I'd carried on the building of the wheelhouse:
A ladder, and in front, an electric panel board:

Wall elements, keyboards and panel boards, oscilloscope...

Encore l'échelle : finalement on la voit...

The wheel : the glue is not still dry on the picture!

At this stage, I wanted to put a funnel, because of the old-timer look, but the future obliged me to take it away.
I had no place to buttress the rear mast, so I had to suppress this funnel and substitute it by a pipe, you'll see later.

Some previews of the trawler, with unglued parts:

Here the place for the batteries: I was ready to lighten the ship...

There, I followed the electric scheme drawn by my son, and obtained this result:

IT RUNS !

To be continued...

Bye,

Thanh Thuy.

Some more details before painting the hull

Salut à tous!

Let us take the stock of the situation :

I made the hull, the deck, a big mistake with the forecastle, the cabins, the rescue-boat, and put some effective lights.

It was still lacking in details : so I became to "fill" my model with such things (some will be of my own, not from the original model...)
Sorry if I don't give the exact names of these pieces, but sometimes, I don't know them even in french!!

These two curved pieces are of card and will support the fishnet.
The second picture shows how it buttresses the foremast in the same time.

Here, you can see how I put the prow right : I made a pair of rails on each sides of the forcastle, to bring it to line with the horizon.
But it let a space and , as - remember! it belongs to the "nimaga-sangan" navy, an african fictive country - I decided to put a figurehead to fill this "vacuum".

Thus I took a piece of wood and sculpted a "dog-figurehead", african style, and painted brick-red, as a tropical wood piece.

Don't smile, it's serious!

Some upper views of the ship at this stage...

A radar, made of wood and cardboard, and a loop-antenna, made of wood and copper cable.

A pulley, made of lead, at the end of the crane (a davit?) to support the rescue boat:

Here, some electric cables going to the rear LED:

A view of the airsocks, made of cardboard (they follow the original pattern of Modelarz), and so not made like the airsocks of my gunship 'OLRY' (you can go to see the differences).
The roof is not glued : it will never, I need to pull it off, if I want to light the LEDs.

Two pulleys made of card:

The ship, before I painted the hull:

I said "don't smile...or I bite you!".

And my "trawler-by-night"...

Next time, I shall show the hull painted, and shall carry on with more details...

To be continued...

Ciao!

At last, the hull painted!

Salut à tous!

Some more of this ship : I painted the hull.

The clean air of the open sea...

Missing the smell of fish!

To be continued.

Smile Weathering!

Hello tout le monde!

After I had choosen the colour, I had to "weather" the whole ship.
So I added some brown for rust and dirt.

And more and more details...

Here the new funnel and an airsock for the engine : they are from drinking straws.

Here, next to the boat, the kitchen's chemney.

A new preview outdoor...

And more and more details...

Here, "caps" for the funnels, against water penetration, made from stain sheet.

A suivre...or...to be continued!

Bye,

Thanh Thuy.
