Finished Build - SMS Rhein - 1/250 PSWrightUK

Hello everyone:

Just finished my build of the SMS Rhein from PSWrightUK.

Been a member here for some time, lurking, but haven't been active in the hobby much until recently. Thought I'd say hello with these pics.

I'm also working on the HMS Dreadnought in 1/500, the Schrieber-Bgen Rickmer Rickmers ship, the MMorck Teazer Blockade Runner ship, and an old Japanese shrine from a site I can't find any longer. Yes, LOL, all at more or less the same time

Model is mounted on canvas/cardstock laminate, with cardstock trim painted in Ceramcoat Copper paint. Ceramcoat acrylics used for the water, wake ect.

Railings made from vellum paper, handdrawn and easy to mount. Used PIGMA Micron technical pens for color.

Flagpoles, smokestack details, cannons, canvas roof poles all made from thin wire, painted black with matte testors acrylic. Casemate edges, lower hull edging, and stern underhull, and funnels painted in matte black and red testors acrylic.

Canvas rolls made from Kleenex tissue rolled and painted with a mix of white/yellow to simulate canvas, and tied with tan thread.

I kinda borked the turret build as the drawing details are mismatched (labels/parts) and I ended up using tops for bottoms etc. (sigh) I did find several mislabled and or missing parts on the sheet as I was building. The model author hasn't replied to my lovely letter pointng out these issues, (maybe I made him mad?) LOL

Anyhow, enjoy the couple pics I've posted
