Ambrose Light Ship

I thought I would try a ship and since this has been on the back burner for months and months I thought I would now give it a shot. Some mistakes were made and I am thinking about building it again. I have some ideas to improve the appearance by adding a little detail here and there. Very nice kit and a pleasure to build.

Looks mighty fine to me. If that's the Digital Navy download, welcome to world of "build it as many times as you want." Thanks for posting.

Digital Navy............Yes

Thanks for the kind words Don. I should have mentioned that it is indeed the Digital Navy download. John

Great job! I want to add 'at that scale' - but it's a nice clean build regardless of scale. I assume the rigging is painted fishing line to fit the scale, or did you have to find something thinner than that?

Silk thread

Dan, no, I used silk thread, size A. It is a little heavy and I have ordered a smaller size. I made a jig and used a very small amount of super glue on the end of a pin to attach at each contact point. Very tedious but well worth the results. I hope to do a better job on the next rebuild. Thank you for you generous comments. John

Superb! May I ask what weight paper you used in the build?
Thanks
Chris

Paper weight

Chris thanks for the kind comments. Yes you may ask, it's 67 pound cover stock, #18624-0 HammerMill brand purchased at Staples. I hope this helps. John

Another photo

OK Chris, here's another photo. This was taken before I made the cradle for the life boat. The sun is shinning bright today, need another pic?
