Somewhere off of Anzio, Italy

As I am prepping for the journey this weekend to the IPMC, the build desk
is clear. So I started mucking about with some photo manipulation.

Using an ocean backdrop, I took one of the pics of the Trippe, and removed
the background and base. Dropping it into the ocean scene, I smoothed
the edges of the wake, then changed the mode to grayscale. The ship itself
was still to clear to fit the ocean, so to make it more closely resemble period
photos of the ship, I added a little blur filter and noise filter.

Is it great, nah. Does it give a sense of the ship being there. Sure.

Just an experiment to see if I can pull off something new.

Looks good to an amateur like me. Reminds me of the B&W scenes from "Sink the Bismark" and all the "Victory at Sea" stuff.
