so far as i know their only full hull ship is the rotterdam

Pięknie wykonany model!!!! Sam go robię od ponad roku, tyle że w skali 400, też z JSC i przyznam, że Twój bardzo mi się podoba. Moje gratulacje!
Jeżli mogę spytać, to na podstawie jakiej dokumentacji waloryzowałeś model?

Beautifully made model !!!! I have been doing it myself for over a year, but on a 400 scale, also with JSC and I admit that I like yours very much. My congratulations!
If I may ask, on the basis of what documentation did you valorize the model?

Hanseat,
That's really an amazing build. Some questions:

Did you use a building board or glass of some form to build the keel?
Are the handrails 1:250 Lasercuts supplied by JSC or where did you get them?
What additions did you make to the lifeboat lasercuts?
Why is the shield at the bow hanging to one side - I imagine that must be how the citys' shield is actually portrayed for some reason.
I know you do a lot of extra research which gives a superb result - was just wondering about the colour of the promenade windows on the focsle (white) compared with the black ones on the side?

Congrats - that's truly an amazing standard!

Regards,
Alan

to the best of my knowledge the only liners in full hull from JSC is Rotterdam/rembrandt

you are right about the shields, but that was the way JSC offered them and I thought it was not worth the trouble changing that. It would have meant not using the entire skin. A judgement of evils. As to the windows: the front windows are cut-outs of the shell for protection, the side windows sliding ones with a wooden frame. The brown does not show nicely in my pics.
It was hard anyway to find an example model. There is a rough one at Deutsches Schiffahrtsmuseum in Bremerhaven, but the museum has been closed for renovation for years. When I was building the Gustoff a nice female employee at the museum took a liking to me and we both sneaked clandestinely through the construction-site-like museum to find out if the Gustloff model was still on display. It was very awkward and funny: half-lit, half-legal. But I behaved gentlemanly and thankful though we did not find the model. But my boyfriend and me had a good laugh about the entire story later.
